Nutshell facilities and conditions of hire
Printable document: Nutshell information
Terms and rates: Nutshell is let by the week, Friday to Friday and is available from March until the end of October. The cost is £280.00 per week in the low season from 2017, and £350.00 per week in the high season, with a £5 booking fee and £10 extra for a dog. A deposit of 40% of total cost confirms your booking with the balance due 4 weeks before arrival. Book online using the Book Nutshell page.
What to bring: Nutshell Caravan has crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for 4 people and also a bathmat, drying up towel, rubbish bag and cleaning products. You need to bring bedding, including pillows, towels, food and any special crockery requirements. Firewood for the open fire must be purchased from the campsite around 6.00pm. Water comes from an untreated stream so either bring bottled water or water containers to collect treated water from the campsite. Do not bring electrical appliances as there is only 12v in the caravan and they will be ruined if plugged in.
Conditions apply: Recycling is a condition of staying in Nutshell so do not put recyclables (cans, glass, paper, plastic) with your rubbish but leave at the campsite or caravan. There is an organic disposal bin (compost) nearby for vegetable waste. Do not collect wood from the woodlands nearby and be careful of young trees, marked by stakes. Dogs must be kept either inside, in your car, or on a leash at all times – there are sheep nearby. Please read and respect the Country Code. Please leave Nutshell clean and tidy: do not forget to clean the stove and fridge!
Arrival and departure: Please arrive later than 2.00pm on the first day and leave before 10.00am on the last. Collect the key at the campsite, or if you cannot find a warden there, come to the farmhouse Hafod Lwyfog – on the right up the hill from the campsite entrance towards Pen y Gwryd… on the left as you come down the hill to the lake.
