Llyn Gwynant barns

The barn complex lies before the main entrance to the public campsite. You see these fine stone buildings as you turn from the main road (A498).  There is a gate into Barn yard outside the Camping and Tall barn, with mature trees in a hedgerow, and another gate which opens onto Barn field, the top private camping field. A small area of hard standing is at the top of this field through the gate, and permission is required to take any vehicle beyond this onto the grass.  A smaller gate opens onto a slope at the top of Cae hendre, which is the second private field beside the lake.

The barns are three separate rooms in one large building: The Camping barn is a long low barn on one side, with the Tall barn beside it, which offers the main entrance to the big Function barn behind. This is a large room, with stage at one end, an open lean-to area on one side, and an interior toilet block consisting of 3 cubicles, one level entry, and two showers.

Outside in barn yard is ample parking for 20 – 30 vehicles, and an outside toilet block consisting of Gents and Ladies. Behind this is a storage barn, with rubbish and recycling area and more parking behind. At the back of the Function barn is a patio area with stone table and seating, overlooking the lake.
