The final inhabitants of our reception shelter are now preparing to take flight...

chicksAs usual, our reception building has been host to a number of Swallow nests this year. Usually these agile birds can be seen nesting in early Spring and fledglings take to the skies at the end of summer.

This trio of chicks has been nestled in a cosy spot just by the door at reception. Their parents have been treating campers to daredevil displays as they swoop over heads on their constant trips for food.

The time has now come when the young are looking almost too large for the nest and will be experimenting with their first flights any day.

Swallows at receptionAs the camping season is now getting quieter, and the chirping of Swallow chicks is soon to be over, there is sure to be a lot less noise at the Llyn Gwynant reception!

You can find out more about the wonderful variety of wildlife that call Llyn Gwynant Campsite home by visiting our Wildlife page. Better still, come for a visit and camp amongst Welsh nature at its best!
